ICAO air navigation bureau director Stephen Creamer has said net-zero and zero-emission goals established by the industry and governments will reorder priority levels across the air transport system-from safety to sustainability. "If I told you safety is the most important goal for ICAO, we'd be mistaken because this emission goal is the most important one that we have to sort out. Because if we don't meet this goal, the industry is going to be blocked from operating in the manner that it wants to, or the cost will be so high that people won't be able to afford our business," Creamer said at the 2023 Asia-Pacific Summit of Aviation Safety in Singapore.
