Concrete and quarried materials account for less than 3% of housebuilding construction costs, according to a report from the Irish Concrete Federation (ICF). The report studied the impact of the industry's material costs on new housing construction projects. It found that basic construction materials supplied by quarry operators, ready-mix concrete suppliers, concrete block and other concrete product suppliers account for just 3.4% of the cost of building three- bedroomed semi-detached dwellings in the Greater Dublin area.
