NASAhas awarded multiple contracts to support Rotorcraft Vertical Lift Technology Development (RVLTD) efforts. The six recipients - Leonardo (AgustaWestland), Boeing, Collins Aerospace, Georgia Tech Research Institute, Monterey Technologies and Sikorsky - will provide research and development support to offices at the NASA Ames Research Center, as well as services to other NASA centers and the Pentagon, through 2026. The RVLTD project will include research and development work in areas such as advanced rotorcraft technologies, flight controls and health management, and rotorcraft research testing. The Ames Research Center issued an open solicitation for proposals in July 2020. The awards are multiple-award hybrid contracts with cost-plus-fixed-fee and firm-fixed-price indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract task orders with a maximum aggregate value of $40M.
