As it has for many years, SPA participated as an exhibitor at the Northwest Aviation Conference and Trade Show in Puyallup, Washington, last February. Presented by the Washington Aviation Association for more than three decades, the show has grown to encompass 122,000 square feet of aviation displays with an annual attendance of more than 10,000. With more than 75 hours of safety sem- inars the focus of the conference was aviation safety, and conference attendance was good. Traffic at SPA's booth, positioned next to the Washington Seaplane Pilots Association (WSPA) booth, was brisk, with the supply of Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs) selling out. The evening before the Northwest Aviation show opened SPA attended the WSPA Grounded Hogs dinner at the Museum of Flight in Seattle. Doug DeVries, owner of the beautiful turboprop-powered Grumman Goose that has been featured in several Water Flying articles over the past year, spoke at the dinner about the restoration of the Goose and the international flights he has made in it.
