Houston— Port Arthur LNG, a subsidiary of Sempra, and Bechtel Energy have amended and restated the fixed-price engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the proposed Phase 1 liquefaction project under development in Jefferson County, Texas (PCN, 27 June 2022, p 3). Phase 1 is permitted and expected to include two new natural gas liquefaction trains and liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage tanks, and associated facilities capable of producing up to around 13.5-million t/y of LNG, under optimal conditions.
