Custom metal fabricator BTD Manufacturing, Detroit Lakes, MN, has added two 10-kW fiber-laser cutting machines to its facilities-one each at its plants in Dawsonville, GA, and Washington, IL. Both machines are Mitsubishi 3015 GX-F models featuring automatic pallet changers and boasting sheet capacity to 5 by 10 ft. and 2100 lb. The machines can cut mild and stainless steel to 1 in. thick, and aluminum sheet and plate to 7/8 in. An auto zoom head automatically adjusts the beam size according to material type and thickness, and the automatic nozzle changer can sense cutting-nozzle wear and automatically replace it.
