In the summer of 2022, Russia is going to send Luna-25 automatic station to the MoongIts goal will be to study the lunar surface and circumlunar space for further development of the Earth's natural satellite. This is the first spacecraft launched in our country towards the night star after a 46-year break. Thus, Russia is returning to the Moon, where its, unmanned messengers have already been, and they own all the pioneering achievements in this section of cosmonautics. The article tells about the history of the study of the Moon with the help of Soviet automatic stations of the Luna series in the pericd from 1958 to 1976.
