London-Tata Chemicals Europe announced the official opening of UK's "first" industrial scale carbon capture and usage plant at its Winnington site in Northwich, Cheshire. The ￡20-million project, which was supported with a ￡4.2-million grant from the UK Dept. of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), captures 40,000 t/y of carbon dioxide and reduces the company's carbon emissions by over 10%.
