The Palicomp Intel Mercury has been our favourite desktop PC since we reviewed it in Issue 576. However, while we still think it's a great budget PC, we've found a new model that's even better. Enter the Chillblast Sentinel RTX 3050 Gaming PC. Don't let the name put you off if you aren't particularly interested in games. Its RTX 3050 graphics card actually sits at the bottom end of Nvidia's RTX 3000 range, so would be a compromise for hardcore gamers. However, it certainly copes well when running 3D games, if you like to dabble in Microsoft Flight Simulator, for example. It's also very useful for helping Windows with other demanding graphical tasks, such as running multiple monitors or speeding up video and photo editing.
