Practical Graphene Technologies for Electrochemical Energy Storage

摘要

Killer applications of graphenes are always being pursued and critical forrealizing industrialization. Since the first attempt for using graphene inlithium-ion batteries, graphene has been demonstrated as a key componentin electrochemical energy storage technologies. However, the unique rolesof graphene beyond traditional carbon in energy storage are still unclearand need to be clarified. Here, this review starts with a glance over thehistory of graphene in electrochemical energy storage applications, andthen briefly discusses the different dimensional graphenes and representativesynthesis methods that are believed to be essential for energy-relatedapplications. Importantly, three typical graphene technologies showing theirpractical potentials in electrochemical energy storage are illustrated in details,including the uses as conductive additives, in heat dissipation, and compactenergy storage. The methodologies of science and technology for the aboveapplications are systematically elaborated. This review also gives perspectiveson the opportunities and challenges of practical graphene technologiesin electrochemical energy storage. The authors expect this review to providea comprehensive view of how graphene can be uniquely and practically usedfor electrochemical energy storage, paving the way for promoting the developmentof the graphene industry.
