Hidroelektrane Na Trebisnjici (HET), a subsidiary of the Bosnian Serb state-owned power producer Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske (EPRS), has applied for approval of a preliminary environmental impact assessment for the 32 MW Bileca hydro project. The request, which was filed with the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Construction and Ecology of the Republic of Srpska, one of two entities that make up Bosnia and Herzegovina, foresees the installation of two turbines that would provide annual output of 122 GWh on the basis of a discharge of 60 m~3/s. The third phase of the concrete lining of the 15 km-long Fatnicko polje-Bileca reservoir diversion tunnel began in September. To date, some 9.5 km have been lined. Completion of concreting the tunnel is a precondition for the construction of the Bileca hydro plant.
