Google Maps has many uses, from giving directions to showing satellite images of places around the world. In fact, this tech was recently used to solve a cold case. According to BBC News, a former resident of Wellington, FL, noticed something strange in a pond when he viewed satellite images of the area. He contacted a former neighbor, who used a personal drone to confirm that there was a sunken car in the pond. When police pulled the vehicle from the water, they found the remains of William Moldt, a 40-year-old man who had been missing since 1997. After retrieving the vehicle, police theorized that he lost control of the car and drove into the pond.
