On March 25, the European Union Aviation SafetyAgency (EASA) published the world's first guidance for thedesign of vertiports, the ground infrastructure needed for thesafe operation of Urban Air Mobility services such as airtaxis in locations across Europe, including in urban areas.The Prototype Technical Design Specifications for Vertiportsoffers guidance to urban planners and local decisionmakersas well as industry to enable the safe design ofvertiports that will serve these new types of vertical take-offand landing (VTOL) aircraft, which are already at an advancedstage of development.
