Essen-Evonik has signed a second long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with EnBW for the supply of wind power to cover part of Evonik's power requirements in Europe (PCN, 7 Nov 2022, p 3). Under the first 15-year PPA, signed late last year, EnBW will provide Evonik with 100 megawatt (MW) of offshore wind energy from the planned 900-MW He Dreiht offshore wind farm. The second 15-year PPA adds a further 50 MW. The deals should cover over a third of Evonik's power requirements in Europe from 2026 onwards.
