James Morgan, an 'advanced engineering and manufacturing apprentice' from Telford-based Torus Measurement Systems, has been named as the region's 'brightest vocational star'. He overcame competition from more than 100 apprentices from throughout the West Midlands to secure the 'Outstanding Learner of the Year' title at this year's annual In-Comm Training Awards. More than 300 people were at the Eastside Rooms in Birmingham to hear how the 24-year-old is working his way towards a degree by: impressing on the shopfloor; helping deliver critical projects; and becoming a STEM ambassador, visiting schools to inspire the next generation.
