摘要

High light exposure rapidly activates non-photochemical quenching (NPQ), protecting plants from photo-oxidative damage. Contrarily, its relaxation upon transition to normal light occurs quite slowly, limiting photosynthetic efficiency. De Souza et al. demonstrated that by overexpressing NPQ-related genes, faster NPQ relaxation and enhanced photosynthesis can be achieved under fluctuating light conditions.
