Disruption to South Sudan’s vital oil sector from neighboring Sudan’s looming civil war has been limited to the delivery of oil equipment and critical minerals,the country’s petroleum minister said in an update late April 25.Puot Kang Chol said daily crude production is flowing normally,at 169,141 b/d,despite the deepening conflict between rival generals in Sudan that has pitted the Sudanese army against the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces(RSF).In a media briefing,Chol added that plans are being formulated to use safer alternative routes to get vital equipment and critical minerals to South Sudan’s oil fields,which are a vital source of government revenue.
