摘要

Dear Editor, How long will the pandemic last? There is no suitable answer to this question; consequently, people across the world are investigating different theories for finding reasons to control this vulnerable issue. Now the impact of this virus is also seen on animals; hence, the outgoing preliminary report presents the effect of the virus on animals. The coronavimses family of viruses causes a specific type of illness in animals and cold-like diseases in people. In contrast, feline and canine types of coronaviruses infect only animals and have no effects on humans in the spread of COVID-19. Around 75% of new emerging diseases in human beings (including H1N1, Zika, COVID-19, Ebola, SARS, cholera, etc.) are originated from wildlife animals. On April 6~th, 2020, the primary evidence of COVID-19 attack on animals was reported at Bronx Zoo in New York City of the USA. The four years old Malayan tiger named Nadia with a respiratory illness has been tested positive and believed to be the first case of COVID-19 infection in a tiger throughout the world (Fig. 1). Due to dry cough and loss of appetite observed in several tigers, the samples from Nadia with her sister Azul and three African lions were tested and a sign of respiratory illness was observed. On March 27~th, the first animal showed symptoms, and all believed that the animal must have obtained the vims from the employee of that zoo who was not yet showing any signs.
