The October issue is one of the newsiest issues we have had in a while. We report exclusively that Maxim is debuting a new online marketplace for used equipment sales, Manitowoc is replacing the highly revered Triple 9 crawler with the new MLC250 and a crane industry coalition and Texas A&M University are rolling out a first - a Crane Safety Research Laboratory that is designed to make the crane sector smarter and safer. Our News column is chock full of announcements. The Texas A&M University Crane Safety Research Lab is a very interesting and important development. Back in June, Dr. Jim Wiethorn told me he would have some exclusive news to share with me in a couple of months. And he did just that. Dr. Wiethorn and longtime risk management expert Kevin Cunningham have been working with Texas A&M University on this industry/ academic partnership that is a really big deal.
