摘要

The purpose of this text is to provide foundational information about 30 complementary and integrative health approaches. The first four chapters provide a historical overview, disclaimers and definitions. Each subsequent chapter is dedicated to a different modality and covers basic guidelines, literature reviews, credentials needed to practice the modality, and practical applications to occupational therapy (OT). The organization of each chapter is a major strength to this text. Each chapter follows a similar format with consistent headings to organize concepts. The content is directly applicable to the practice of occupational therapy and incorporates all the "need to know" information in a succinct, easy to use way. The modalities are organized alphabetically and there is a table of contents that makes the text very user friendly.
