摘要

1. BACKGROUND: COVID-19 disease, caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, was identified in December 2019 in China and declared a global pandemic by the WHO on 11~th March, 2020. In the modern world, the upcoming era will be of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The AI can not only ease the rapid detection of COVID-19 infected patients but also can be helpful in further drug development processes. The virus called SARS-CoV-2 had infected 2,626,321 patients globally as of 25~ th April, 2020. According to the WHO situation report-95, 181938 deaths have already occurred and continue to increase on a daily basis. AI technology has the potential to tackle this pandemic situation. This technology will absolutely make a difference among the non-AI and AI-based measures in combating this pandemic. Machine learning has the potential to speed up the process of COVID patient detection based on the identification patterns in historical training data. Advancements in AI-based applications including but not limited to deep learning, speech recognition, data analytics, machine learning, natural language processing, and others such as chat-bots and facial recognition will definitely ease in rapid detection as well as contact tracing and vaccine development. No doubt this technology has emerged as an evidence-based medical tool to curb its worst effects by recognizing (diagnose), predicting, planning, and explaining (treat) COVID-19 infections and by managing the socio-economic impacts.E-mails: mali.surajl695@gmail.com
