I had my share of struggles in ATC training. Upon arriving at my first base and completing initial training, I failed my first written test in ground control. I was given a week to get it right, and did. Then I went up for certification in Ground and failed in the first 10 minutes. It was so long ago I don't remember why, but I do remember I wasn't getting any help from anyone. That was a wakeup call. It again took me about a week to fix what I got wrong, then was put up for a certification again. It went well the second time.
