So, no sooner had the varnish dried on my Airfix 1/48 Vampire F.3, the article completed and dispatched to the editor (see Feb's SAM), I became aware thanks to social media, of a 3D-printed conversion set to backdate Airfix's kit. Produced by Wells Props Models, it's designed simply to replace the kit's twin booms and tail plane with the earlier squared off fin and higher tailplane of the F.1.
