AbstractMitochondrial preparations derived from denervated rat skeletal muscle and paired control muscle are characterized with respect to their oxidative and phosphorylative capacities. Our data indicate that there is an impairment within the first 2 energy coupling regions of the respiratory chain and within the ATPase complex itself.
