BRINGING greenlife to the heart of national decision making will be a central aim of next year's inaugural Urban GreenScapes Symposium at the National Convention Centre in Canberra on February 17. The unique event will unveil the benefits of plants and greenlife in the urban landscape and bring together all stakeholder groups to drive unity of message and create a stronger platform on which to engage government. Nursery and Garden Industry Australia (NGIA) communications manager Tracey Wigg said a line-up of Australian and international speakers at the symposium would position greenlife and plants as part of the solution in the global warming debate, with the aim of getting urban greenlife on the political agenda for Kyoto Mark II and carbon trading schemes. An invitation is also extended to attend the 2009 Nursery and Garden Industry National Conference: Ingredients for a Brighter Future, to be held at the same venue on February 18 and 19.
