As methane emissions from US oil and gas companies make up around 3% of domestic GHG emissions, the previous Obama administration issued requirements for companies to reduce methane output. However, the Trump administration has recently said that it will could rescind the requirements as early as July. On May 29, the EPA submitted its final ruling on the mediane standards.
