摘要

Three different types of rock samples were heated to 1000 ℃ to investigate the effect of high temperature on the mechanical properties of the rock. While high temperature has minimum effect on the longitudinal wave velocity of ignimbrite rock, it has a maximum impact on granite and travertine rocks. The compressive strength capacities of ignimbrite and travertine rock samples up to 500 °℃ has close to each other, and they are little affected by the temperature increase; however, with each temperature increase step, the compressive strength of granite decreases and when it reaches 600℃; it loses close to 50% of its compressive strength. While the threshold temperatures of the mechanical parameters of ignimbrite and travertine are about 200℃, it is 100 ℃ for granite. In addition, the maximum color change has observed macroscopically in ignimbrite rocks when the temperature exceeds 400 ℃.
