Brightness has been one of the important terms in lighting research and design from the early twentieth century, and spatial brightness has been actively researched since 1980s. The evaluation models of spatial brightness based on the average luminance comprise four parts :1)obtaining the luminance distribution of target areas, 2) pre-processing on luminance data, 3) weighting on luminance data, and 4) correction by the non-uniformity. The outlines of 5 different spatial brightness indexes - Feu, Kato, Lupin, NSB, Weluna - was explained in this artcle.
