More than 1600 reports of suicide and self-harm attributed to pregabalin have been registered in the French and European pharmacovigilance databases over a period of about 30 years. A study of 120 664 patients exposed to pregabalin has shown that the risk of attempted suicide or suicide is increased by about 30% during periods of treatment with pregabalin, compared to non-treatment periods.
