Aviation Safety Resources (ASR), the Kentucky-based manufacturer of aircraft emergency parachute recovery systems (AEPRS), announced on April 3 that it has acquired Pioneer Aerospace Corporation, a leading US manufacturer of parachutes and parafoils. ASR, which specializes in recovery systems for the aviation and advanced air mobility (AAM) aircraft, acquired Pioneer from Safran Electronics and Defense. By capitalizing on Pioneer's existing manufacturing facilities, the acquisition will allow the renamed ASR-Pioneer to scale its production capacity. "Our business plan called for adding over 80,000 square-feet [7,400 m~2] of manufacturing capability," Larry Williams, President and CEO of ASR, said in a statement. "[T]he Pioneer acquisition allows us to assign the needed production to Pioneer's established facilities in Mississippi."
