The National Museum of Commercial Aviation (NMCA) was formed in 2002 after a group of retired airline employees and civic-minded leaders met to discuss the creation of a lasting legacy to the companies that helped make Atlanta, Georgia, home to the busiest airport in the world.Of the millions of people who travel every year by air, only a relatively small number knows what it takes to get a flight off the ground. But the NMCA wants to change that. The first museum of its kind, the NMCA will showcase every aspect of commercial aviation, from airplanes to the people who make them possible. Unlike other aviation museums that present a mixture of exhibits covering military, general, and (sometimes) air transport, theNMCA will concentrate only on the latter subject-and in detail.
