Plastics processing equipment supplier Sorema has created an upstream de-inking process that uses an advanced washing system and chemical additives. While current technologies rely on thermal degradation of the inks during the degassing and filtration phase of the melt, Sorema's process starts upstream, allowing the extrusion to produce a higher quality polymer, according to a press release.
