摘要

The Latest: Crnogorski Telekom (CT) has launched its 5G network on a commercial basis in Podgorica. The expansion has been enabled by dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS) through 4G, allowing for a rapid but financially sustainable rollout, vital in this small and saturated market. Implications: We have adjusted our 5G forecasts to account for both this development and earlier announcements from rivals Mtel and One, reflecting an earlier than expected start to 5G provision. The market is highly penetrated, and growth will be focused on post-paid services, continuing premium customers' migration away from older 2G and 3G networks towards 4G and 5G platforms. We now forecast 5G to account for 46.0% of all subscriptions by 2032, with 4G providing the remaining subscribers with “good-enough” data and mobile broadband service access.
