AIRBUS DELIVERED the last new-build A380, A6-EVS (MSN 272), to Emirates in December 2021, bringing the super jumbo's 14-year production run to a close. The last delivery was Emirates' 123rd A380, and the Gulf carrier is planning to continue operating the type well into the 2030s. Airbus has handed over 251 A380s in total, far below the 1,000 examples once envisioned by the company when the type was launched in 2000, reflecting airlines' shift to the twin- engine 777, 787 and A350. Airbus decided to stop producing the A380 in 2018. Emirates received far more super jumbos than any other single carrier by some margin. The other deliveries were to Air France (ten), All Nippon Airways (three), Asiana Airlines (six), British Airways (12), China Southern Airlines (five), Etihad Airways (ten), Korean Air (ten), Lufthansa (14), Malaysia Airlines (six), Qantas (12), Qatar Airways (ten), Singapore Airlines (24) and Thai Airways International (six).
