According to state-owned Indian Oil Corp., Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd., and Hindustan Petroleum Corp. Ltd., which control 90% of the country's retail fuel oudets, gasoline sales in HI June were 63% higher compared to H1 May at 903K mt (511.7K b/d) and diesel sales were 39% higher at 2.68MM mt (1.34MM b/d). However, sales of gasoline and diesel in H1 June were 18% and 15% lower, respectively, compared to year-earlier levels. Jet fuel consumption H1 June was nearly double from H1 May at 85K mt (44.2K b/d). Meanwhile, LPG sales continued to rise with sales rising 6% on the year to 960K mt in HI June, but levels were 20% lower on the month. The IEA projects that India's fuel market "will be on a more stable footing by the end of the H2."
