Vitex Extrusion is investing USD12m in the first phase of a new aluminium extrusion line at its Franklin, New Hampshire facility. The investment will double the firm's current extrusion output to 55m lb and support growing demand from customers for aluminium extrusions and value-added components. Built by Presezzi Extrusion Group in Italy, the 2,920-tonne, 8-inch press line includes the latest in automation and mechanical technology and advanced safety features: a Presezzi ESS energy-saving system; a six-stage, energy-efficient tapered billet heating furnace; a two-stage post extrusion quench system with enhanced, distortion-free cooling; a high-precision double-stage finish saw, and fully automated operation - post extrusion, through transfer to tempering.
