The main goals of this talk are to define what is credentialing in health care, how it came to exist, why it is important for health care practitioners to be credentialed and, specifically, why it is important for Neurodiagnostic technologists to be credentialed in their field of work. In brief, credentialing is a standardized process utilized to evaluate and assess the minimum qualifications of an individual in a particular field. The lecture will specifically describe the credentialing process for Neurodiagnostic Technologists and review the advantages of having the appropriate credentials, which in most instances leads to a higher salary.
