The new Rolls-Royce Spectre vehicle features a lightweight aluminium space-frame (ASF) chassis and is the British luxury automaker's first step towards creating an all-electric production line by 2030. Not only is the Spectre built on the ASF chassis, but it is also 30% more rigid because of the inclusion of aluminium profiles and a battery embedded in the original framework. The ASF itself is built from extruded profiles, sheet and vacuum die-cast components of various thicknesses and lengths. Extremely upgraded technology is required to fabricate an aluminium body frame that is high in rigidity with intense usability - and both lighter and stronger than steel.
