During the last 10 years, a lot of interests have been devoted to the materials with called CDC (colossal dielectric constant). The first materials exhibiting this behavior were the CaCu3Ti4O12 (CCTO) perovskite ceramic that it relative dielectric permittivity can attain values of 10(5). In this work, we synthesis a new composite of 0.5CaTiO(3)-0.5FeTiO(3) (CT-FT) to search materials with high dielectric properties. The novel CT-FT samples exhibited orthorhombic phase structure with space group Pbnm (CT phase structure) with coexistence of orthorhombic phase with space group Pmmm (FT phase structure) without change in phase formation with modifying in calcination step. The composite formed after calcination step show a good density with a low grain size. Interestingly, the dielectric measurements allow us to obtain new CT-FT composites with colossal dielectric permittivity which is 4 and 48 magnitudes higher than pure FT and pure CT respectively with a low dielectric loss. The electrical properties proved that the internal barrier layer capacitance mechanism is the main reason for the colossal dielectric permittivity and the decrease of R-gb is responsible for inhibition of dielectric loss in these composites.
