Tarmac and Forth Ports have signed a long-term agreement to build what is claimed to be the UK's largest construction materials aggregates terminal at Tilbury2. Under the deal, Tarmac has committed to a 25-year partnership with the Port of Tilbury, which is owned by Forth Ports. The agreement follows a £250m investment made by Forth Ports atTilbury2, the UK's newest port.The facility is a purpose-built aggregate processing and manufacturing facility serving London and the south-east with multi-modal connectivity. The riverside location also features a railhead for delivery of construction materials into the capital without the use of heavy road haulage.
