Sider Alloys Italia is currently reviving Alcoa's old smelting facility located in Portoscuso, Italy with a significant investment. The company is installing a continuous type homogenizing furnace for its plant in partnership with furnace builder in Turkey, Sistem Teknik. Given their advantages over batch-type furnaces with cooling cabinets, the company says, continuous-type homogenizing lines are increasingly in demand as the global aluminium industry expands.
