Bangkok-SCG Chemicals(SCGC),majority shareholder in Portuguese recycling firm Sirplaste-Sociedade Industrial de Re-cuperados de Plastico,said it recently invested in Sirplaste to expand production capacity of high quality post-consumer recycled resin(PCR)to address the growing market demand in Europe and Africa.In order to increase PCR or recycled high-density polyethylene capacity by 9,000 t/y to over 45,000 t/y,PCGC has invested in new technologies and machinery at Sirplaste.Completion is expected by the second quarter of 2023.
