Guy Norris Derby, England To meet its target of making the Trent civil aircraft engine family compatible with 100% sustainable aviation fuel by 2023-as well as modern business jet power-plants-Rolls-Royce faces a busy year of testing and supporting the accelerated uptake of greener fuel. Flight and ground testing of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) picked up over the past six months for the Trent powerplants and the Pearl 700 business jet engine, and the pace shows no sign of letting up. Over the course of March, Rolls signed a sustainable fuel supply agreement with Air BP and conducted a flight test with Airbus of a 100% SAF-fueled Trent 900 on an A380.
