Galliumferrite nanoparticles have been synthesized by chemical combustion. The morphology, phase composition, and magnetic properties of particles have been studied using electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis, and Mossbauer spectroscopy. The presence of iron-containing Fe3O4, FeGa2O4, FeGaO3, and alpha-Fe phases in these particles is established. The cation distributions in the main phase FeGa2O4 over tetrahedral and octahedral crystallographic sites were found to be (Fe0.782+Ga0.243+) and [Fe0.282+Ga1.783+], respectively. Materials based on (Fe,Ga)(3)O-4 gallium ferrites can be used in modern biomedical technologies.
