During our ongoing revisionary studies in the genus Anemonastrum Holub,we found that three species of Anemonastrum remain surrounded by uncertainty in their typification and here we designate lectotypes for them. The genus Anemonastrum Holub (1973: 155) belonging to the family Ranunculaceae, comprises 46 species (WCVP; Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew 2021) distributed throughout the world, mainly in the temperate zones of both northern and southern hemispheres (Hoot et al. 2012, Mosyakin 2016,2018). InIndia, the genus is known as 13 species which are mainly confined to the Himalayan region (both Eastern and Western) and some states of Northeast India and Western Ghats (Ziman et al. 2005,2006,2007,Rajput and Agnihotri 2020). Holub (1973) proposed anew genus name Anemonastrum for Anemone sect. Omalocarpus DC. and published 300 new combinations. Out of these, Anemonastrum demissum (Hook.f. & Thomson) Holub, Anemonastrum elongatum (D.Don) Holub and Anemonastrum polyanthes (D.Don) Holub were based onAnemone demissa Hook. f. & Thomson, Anemone elongata D.Don and Anemone polyanthes D.Don, respectively. Lectotypes for these names are designated here from the available original material following Article 9.3 and 9.17 of the ICN, Shenzhen Code (Turland et al. 2018).
