The thermal conductivity of molded specimens of different porosities of two binary powder systems (Al-Ni and Al-Zr) was measured in the temperature range 20–200°C. An analogy is experimentally found between the thermal conductivity and mechanical properties. It is shown that this thermomechanical analogy is associated with the contact mechanism of heat transfer and elastic deformation. Reommendations are offered for predicting the thermal conductivity on the basis of the known correlations for mechanical characteristics of pressed metal powder materials.
