With a programme devised by International Newsletters Ltd, publisher of Technical Textiles International, and organiser of the Nonwovens for High-performance Applications series of seminars, Smart Nonwovens sought to give visitors to the Index 2020 exhibition held in Geneva, Switzerland, on 19-22 October 2021 (see also, One topic dominates discussions as industry finally convenes again, page 11) a flavour of the many ways in which nonwovens can be engineered for a dazzling range of highly technical end-uses. Recognising the ongoing difficulties and reluctance of many to travel, the co-organisers of Index 2020, EDANA of Brussels, Belgium, and Geneva-based Palexpo, organised the seminar as a hybrid event, with speakers and delegates attending in-person or online on the afternoon of 20 October. Whether watching live or viewing on-demand after the exhibition had concluded, delegates learned about a broad range of state-of-the-art technologies and high-performance applications dedicated to these versatile fabrics.
