Calgary—Pembina Pipeline Corp. has signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with Marubeni that involves jointly developing a world-scale, low-carbon hydrogen and ammonia production facility in Alberta, Canada. The plant, to be located on land owned by Pembina adjacent to its Redwater Complex, has an anticipated design capacity of up to 185,000 t/y of low-carbon hydrogen production, which will be converted into about 1-million t/y of low-carbon ammonia. The ammonia will be shipped to Japan and other Asian markets.
