The GSM 11, from BMS, is a servo-driven coiling machine for producing garter springs.With a maximum wire feeding speed of 180 m/minute, this machine can handle 0.2 to 0.8 mm diameter wire and produces springs with an outside diameter of up to 7 mm. Spring length can vary from 55 to 400 mm and is controlled by an infrared sensor. There is a mechanism which automatically stops the machine if the spring diameter varies outside the preset tolerance.
