摘要

In the August 2022 issue of Joule, Shao-Horn and co-workers revealed the mechanisms of a transition-metal-oxide-catalyzed four-electron conversion for molten-nitrate lithium-oxygen batteries. The formation of lithium oxide is facilitated by the reduction of nitrate to nitrite, and nitrite is subsequently oxidized to nitrate.
